"Bright Spots"

"Bright Spots"

 WDIC, 92.1, weekdays, 8:51 am. & 3:23 p.m.

The Mission of "Bright Spots" is to present an encouraging word to a discouraged souls.

Since 1994 32,000 "Bright Spots" have aired.

A little girl wanted to know what the United States looked like, so her father tore a map of the USA out of a magazine and then cut it into small pieces.  He told her to take it to her room and try to put it together.  After a few minutes she returned and handed him the map correctly fitted and taped into place.

Her father was surprised and asked how she finished it so quickely.  She said, "On the other side was a picture of Jesus and when I put him back then our country just came together."

Two blue-blooded dogs were strutting down the street with their noses high in the air.  Along came an alley dog of the “mut” variety.  Feeling very superior and annoyed at being in the presence of the low-class canine, one of the lady dogs said, “My name is Miji, spelled M-I-J-I.”  The other dog said, “My name is Miki, spelled M-I-K-I.”  The mut put his nose up in the air and said, “My name is Fido, spelled P-H-Y-D-E-A-U-X.”

A cute story to brighten your day...and something to think about.

A Sunday School teacher told her class they were going to learn the 23rd Psalm.

She asked, "Does anyone know it?"

A little girl raised her hand. The teacher asked her to stand in front of the class and recite it.

With a big smile the little girl walked to the front of the class and said, "The Lord is my Shepherd, that's all I want."  She took a bow and sat down.

Out of the mouths of babes...

The service station was crowded at the start of a holiday weekend.  Finally the attendant hustled up to a local minister who had been waiting in line for some time.

"I am so sorry about the delay pastor," he said, "but is seems like everyone waits until the last minute to prepare for a trip they have known for weeks they were going to take."

The pastor replied, "I know just what you mean."

Something to think about....

The preacher's five year old daughter noticed that her father always paused and bowed his head for a moment before he started his sermon.  One day she asked him why.

He said, "Well, honey, I am asking the Lord to help me preach a good sermon."

She said, "How come He does not answer?"

Ouch......
